In Memoriam

John M. Hope, KC

(1943-2022)
The lawyers and staff of Duncan Craig LLP lost a loved and revered colleague, mentor and friend, John M. Hope, KC, on December 28, 2022. Mr. Hope was a pillar of Duncan Craig LLP, steadfastly serving the firm and innumerable clients since 1968.

Mr. Hope will be remembered as a dynamic and strategic advisor with an ever-sharp wit. In his 53 years of practice, he contributed greatly to the growth and education of generations of lawyers and was well respected by all in the legal community. He will be remembered as a “lawyer’s lawyer” with an exceptional ability to parse through any matter before him.

Mr. Hope leaves behind his loving wife, three sons and their partners, six grandchildren and numerous family and friends. We send our thoughts to them during this difficult time.

Litigator, cowboy, role model. He will be irreplaceable.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Hope’s memory can be made to the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute.
