Rob practices in the areas of Corporate and Commercial Law, Mergers and acquisitions, Taxation and Estate Planning. He has been a regular lecturer at the Law Society of Alberta Bar Admission and CPLED Courses, as well as presenting in Canadian Bar Association Continuing Legal Education and Legal Education Society of Alberta courses. He completed the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants In-Depth Tax course and has served as an Executive Member of the Canadian Bar Association, Tax Section – Northern Alberta.
Rob was called to the Alberta Bar in 1981 and his professional affiliations include the Law Society of Alberta, the Canadian Bar Association, the Edmonton Bar Association, the Canadian Tax Foundation and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. Rob received his LL.B. from the University of Alberta in 1980 and his Bachelor of Arts in 1976, also from the University of Alberta.
Rob serves on the Board of the Rotary Club of Edmonton West. He was President of the Alberta Progressive Conservative Party from 1999 to 2002. Rob is a triathlete, having completed two Ironman competitions and represented Canada in the World Triathlon Championship (2004) in Madeira, Portugal. In 2009, Rob branched out into live theatre acting, appearing in the Players de Novo production of “Father of the Bride”, a fundraising event for the Victoria School Foundation and a small Edmonton theatre company.
